iQOO Neo7 Pro 5G Review: The Ultimate Device for Mobile Gaming Purists

Design and Display

iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G boasts a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen having a contrast ratio of 8,00,00,00:1, DCI-P3 color gamut, and the ability to reproduce 1.07 billion colors. The phone’s display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and offers a peak brightness of 1300 nits. We used the iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G for several activities, including video streaming, and gaming as casual browsing, and didn’t face any issues.

iQOO Neo7 Pro 5G offers two color options: Dark Storm and Fearless Flame.  The rear panel also houses the cameras along with the LED flash in a squared module. The phone houses volume rockers and the power button is placed at the right. embedded with the fingerprint sensor. Below, you get the USB Type-C port, speakers, and SIM slot. The keys are placed perfectly for single-hand usage.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G sports a triple camera setup that has a 50MP OIS Main Camera with an ISOCELL GN5 sensor with a large 1/1.57″ sensor size. The rear camera is clubbed with an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, 2MP super macro camera along with 16MP selfie camera. Additionally, the device includes a 120° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 4cm macro lens, expanding creative perspectives beyond boundaries. Harnessing the power of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), iQOO Neo7 Pro can produce crystal clear images even in low-light conditions, night views, and sports scenes.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G has different modes including Bokeh Portrait Video, Pure Night View, OIS Panning Portrait, Super Night Video, Sports Mode, etc. Photos clicked in daylight and outdoors were quite impressive. We especially liked the Portrait mode on the smartphone, which can provide some in-depth details of the images. We also tried to take some pictures in the Night mode and the results were satisfactory. Even, a selfie camera is good enough to capture some beautiful photos.

Performance, Gaming, and Software

iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G houses Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which was last year’s flagship processor. So if you’re looking for a gaming phone under Rs 35,000, then this could be a good option to consider.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G has even added a dedicated chip for performance which does come in handy when playing games like Genshin Impact Mobile.
iQOO has even added 8 5G bands which are n1, n3, n5, n8, n28A, n40, n77, and n78. So you will be able to take advantage of 5G all over India without any issues.

It runs on Fun Touch OS 13 based on Android 13 and IQOO has promised 2 years of OS and 3 years of security updates which means, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G will get Android 14 and Android 15 Updates.

Now, most of the brands are providing three years of OS updates but here iQOO is like, we will offer only 2 OS updates, take it or leave it.
By the way, the phone does have ads in the UI which you have to disable by going to the settings but keep in mind, the ads won’t be disabled by 100%.

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh battery which has an incredibly fast 120W charging solution. It is so fast that half the battery can juice up in less than 10 minutes. The rest takes about 20 minutes, which gives you a total of slightly less than 30 minutes for a full charge, an important feature for users who like to top-up their phone just before leaving for work. In terms of the battery life itself, the phone can last very easily for the whole day, but that time can reduce based on the amount of heavy graphical usage you inflict on the device.

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G carries a starting price tag of Rs 34,999 for the 8GB variant and it goes up to Rs 37,999 for the 12GB variant.
For the price, iQOO Neo7 Pro is a performance-oriented handset with optimised gaming capabilities. The robust design is a big plus from a durability standpoint while the 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR support make it a great visual aid. Apart from that, the Neo7 Pro’s camera setup can also satisfy potential consumers.

However, the phone is anything but light and compared to some other devices in the price range, it may sport a slightly bland look. It also doesn’t help that the interface has a ton of pre-installed apps that can dampen the user experience. If these things matter little to you then I feel that mobile gaming enthusiasts can find easy refuge in the Neo7 Pro’s capabilities.
